FILM · DOCUMENTARY · THEATRE
Studio Luffa is an independent creative studio led by Donna Ong. We develop and produce stories drawn to the things that make us human — our histories, cultures, contradictions and capacity for change. The work takes different forms, from documentary and film to theatre and beyond.
EXPLORE OUR WORK ⟶led by Donna Ong, a filmmaker and creative producer whose interests span cinema, history, politics and the stories we tell about ourselves.
Donna's path has taken her through classical Hollywood cinema, Burmese politics and international diplomacy, to a PhD in Chinese film history and the making of documentary film. Across these different worlds runs a longstanding fascination with human nature, cultural identity and the forces that shape our lives — as well as the pure pleasures of a good story, whether it illuminates something about the world or simply brings us joy.
Studio Luffa develops original projects across documentary, film, theatre and other forms, bringing research, creative thinking and collaborators together to take ideas from an initial spark towards realisation.
